Welcome

Welcome to my blog about my quilting journey! I started quilting in 2006 with a quilt of my own design which started as a cushion cover and ended up as a single bed sized quilt! Now I'm totally hooked....maybe obsessed is a better word for it.

Sunday Stash - Prize Winnings

I just realised that I haven't blogged about the fabrics I won as part of the Something New Sampler quilt along which saw me put this little baby together earlier this year:

You can see more photos here if you are interested.  Anyway, in the voting my quilt top 'Pole Dancing' came in third and I won a fabric bundle from Sew Me a Song.

Now I'll be the first to admit these fabrics are outside my usual style. I LOVE bright colours in my fabrics and these are very muted for my liking.

Some have a bit of a vintage sewing theme:

The others are more sort of more depression era style which I have to say is not one of my favourites.

Not sure what I'm going to do with these so into the stash they will go for a bit of a think until their turn comes up!

Anyone have any suggestions for them?

Linking up with Sunday Stash at Finding Fifth!

  1. Love the colors in your first quilt, I agree about the last picture, maybe you can use them in a swap, or for charity causes. The sewing themed ones are cool.

  4. Low volume swap for a lot of them.. And you never know when you'll need sewing themed fabric! BUT the aqua and yellow one has great bright potential if mixed with the right crowd. I can see navy, orange, aqua and yellow joining forces!

  5. pretty :-) The sewing ones would look great in the projects from Patchwork Plus - zakka style. The white ones as low volume, and the other two maybe in more scrappy style quilts - little pieces of them here and there? I love your pole dancing quilt and I am looking forward to seeing it all quilted and finished :-)

  6. Yes your quilt was well deserving of a prize Sue. I actually like those quiet prints myself but I do think they would make good lining fabric for pouches.
